SUPER AWESOME BLOG UPDATE......THANK YOU CONNEX for the "white box" prototype of the newest Connex radio (not out yet, but will be soon) Connex 6300HP!!!!!!! We recd the product sample of this yet to be released radio mid Nov 2011 and it appears to yet be another Connex Winner! We will be posting technical data on it shortly. We wanted to be the first in the USA to let the public know this amazing new radio. Currently we are learning the in/outs of this units RF deck to offically offer the re-engineered versions like our SuperWackPack Phase II when it is offically available!!!!!!!!!
NEW UPDATE ON 6300HP, awesome design. Haven't fired it up yet, but the amplifer now on the back of the radio, MUCH improved internal heatsink, no 8V regular mod ever required. SMT quality circuit board. Looking sweet! Nice features, can't wait to fire it up on the test center!
Thank you to our friends at Connex once again for leading the industry and supporting their top tier "authorized" dealers!!!!!! Because of their concern for dealers, authorized dealers are able to give the consumer much more then other brand names in giving the end user the world class support they deserve!
One thing that we run into on a day to day basis is people that get in radios that they describe as having clean, clear, but low audio. Most redesigned radios that we produce benefit greatly from either a Astatic 636L or a RK56. We can debate which mike is better at some other time, but for this write up, our radios 99% of the time in most big trucks should be using one or the other. However many people dont get the full benefit from their SWP II radios when they use one of these mikes. Why? Experienced users have known for years that on the screen on the mike youll notice a plastic piece. The correct name for it is called a lip guard. The correct way of using these mics is resting your lip on the lip guard as you talk. The lip guard is your mics way of showing you that after that point the mic will have a harder time hearing you, resulting in low audio. If your radio gets "your audio is clear but your not loud enough" then try this suggestion. Most notice a nice difference in audio quality.
Another thing that we have been hearing lately is how negitive our competition has been "slamming us" and "each other" Well lets face it, we are all working harder then ever before and getting paid equal to less then we ever did before. Bills have gone up for all of us, and money is tight for the working man/woman. When stuff "hits the fan" theres two ways to react, step up to the plate, bust your butt, build a awesome product thats better then everyone elses or start slinging mud at the people that intimidate you. We hear at radioactiveradios.com step up to the plate.
Being in this business as head deep as we have been for as long as we have we expect to get our fair share of the competitions slams. Heck companies that do little to no radio work get zero attention since their sales are so limited nobody wastes a moment of time breathing their name in a slam. Who are you going to go after when you feel imtimidated? The biggest and best. Why would you bother slamming a shop nobody ever hears about? Over the years the competition has slammed us about some of our earlier work. Well lets face a few facts....
First, few shops over the last 20 years have innovated nearly a fraction of the exclusive designs that we have. Sure some of our designs have needed improvement over the years. But its much easier to pick out flaws then it is to come invent something yourself. What people dont say is how AWESOME 98.5% of every design we have came out with the entire time we have been around has been. When we come up with a design, year after year after year after year we still keep improving them. The personality of the owner of this company is this.... If work becomes a routine and things dont keep moving forward we rather just go out of business. What keeps us motivated if constant forward progress.
Most slams are fabricated. Lets face it, we have had a web presents since late 1994 when we put up the first GF CB and Electronics site. From 1994 to today we have seen more "web based" sites come and go then you can shake a stick at. Do people not think we own a digitial camera and can take pics of incoming radios that our competition had done and exploit it with false facts?? I can take a pic of "XYZ" shops radio here on our bench then fake 20 pics that you the person thats looking would have no clue if they were real or not. Why wouldnt we bother wasting such time?? Well at the end of the day we are professionals thats why. If your in a business that does repairs, when our competition screws up a radio and we fix it, we make money getting it right for the customer. Ummmm, we are in the radio repair business. Competitions bad work makes us money. Why would we need to do anything else then spend time fixing things? We arent in the business of slamming shops. Hate to say it most shops slam themselves with their own poor work. Why would we have to say negitive statements about them, they do it to themselves.
As a policy you will NEVER read or hear a single negitive statement about any specific shop ever. We feel our high quality work speaks volumes and taking the high road is the only road we will travel. If you think we should "fight back" we do daily. How? We simply build awesome stuff and have for a long long time. Recently we have made MASSIVE investments in improving our technical benches. Even in a bad economy we have busted butt to add new high end late model VERY expensive equipement to our bench. Why? Again we are in this to win this. Build a better product then everyone else and stay on top. No need to make false statements, no need to fudge pics. If your a busy bench tech you have no time for smack talking.
We wont try to win you over with cheap products, or wal mart style prices. We will build you the best product, keep putting on our work boots and step up to the plate busting butt for our customers. If our competitors liked us I hate to say it there would be something wrong. When they hate us, we know why! So keep up with your "nana nana naaana" type playground stuff, while we keep focused on design work!
Well Blogging is kinda fun, so keep tuned in I guess there will be more to come!
