When the Connex 4600T ended, :(.... it was replaced by two different radios. The Connex 4400T and this General HP40W. Both radios are awesome, both are nearly the same. So why buy one over the other? Well if you take note the HP40W has the better of the two band selectors. Its called a continues click band selector. It only uses a Rotary Knob to access bands of channels. While the 4400T uses the very old out dated Toggle Switch and Rotary Knob style. All that boils down to is the HP40W is much easier to operate and a smarter design.
Otherwise the features of the HP40W are all you would expect from a top of the line monster. Well built. When we got the prototype of this we smiled. These units we strongly specialize in and they are well built, and priced right. Echo/reverb is included, talkback on a switch, and much more. This is a amplified unit. HOWEVER is very easily used in many installations because we can custom design it just for you. We will be pleased to discuss your needs and help you to design it for your application since we don't build generic radios designed for easy high profits.
One question we get about this is the size. Its the same size as nearly all full sized chassis. 8" wide, 10" deep, about 3.5" tall. The amp deck is on the bottom cover, and yes it fan cooled! Most will never hear the fan lol.
