RCI 3900HP is a all mode am/fm/ssb/cw chassis build for the buyer who wants a great radio with ssb, in a "mid" price range. If you've been around awhile then you remember the SuperStar 3900 that was super popular in the late 80s, and mid 90s. It was popular because it wasn't expensive, but talked great (when done right). Well this rig is kinda like that one. However it has 3 power settings (can be setup for a amp!), echo/reverb, and a dual stacked clarifier. Dual "fet" finals bring this one up to over 60-75+ SuperWackPacked PEP watts. While PEP isn't where your talkpower comes from as you can tell this radio SuperWackPacked gives you some awesome audio, thats loud, clean, and clear when used with a good mic!
The bonus is it has SSB! While nobody in their right mind will argue this rig is as stable as a RCI 2950DX, or RCI 2970DX radio, its also far less expensive. Add a close talk switch and really get it customized. SuperRx really helps the receive out as well. We hope RCI will keep this radio out for awhile, as they have been known for new models that come and go faster then a bad sitcom check it while you can!
